Efficacy of Hydrogen Peroxide-Based Disinfectants

Efficacy of Hydrogen Peroxide-Based Disinfectants

Hydrogen peroxide-based disinfectants have been found to be effective against certain microorganisms. These microorganisms are as follows:

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Staphylococcus aureus (Beta-Hemolytic 227)
  • Salmonella choleraesuis
  • Bacillus subtilis

To inhibit the microorganisms mentioned above, the minimum concentration of solutions containing hydrogen peroxide is 0.8%, 1.0%, and 2.0%.

It has been determined that solutions at these concentrations provide 100% efficacy against bacteria within specific time intervals. With a disinfectant exposure of over 5 minutes, it has been observed that all the microorganisms listed above are completely destroyed.

Recently, disinfectants in tablet form have become available. These tablet-form disinfectants are formulated with sodium percarbonate, which contains a certain ratio of hydrogen peroxide. The most critical aspect here is what should not be present in the sodium percarbonate.

All information here should be used in accordance with the regulations by experts and professionals in the field.
